I have been a patient for many years and have always been satisfied with my care.
For the last couple of years I have been dealing with Fibroids and Polyps that would require surgery. I was given a few options of what treatments could help me.
Once I had decided to proceed with a uterine fribroid embolization, I was referred by Dr. Abrams' office to go to Sarasota Memorial for an MRI. Once there, they couldn't process my insurance information in time and I was forced to reschedule that appointment and the appointment with another specialists. Between rescheduling the MRI and following up with the specialist, Dr. Abrams and/or her office called the specialist and was told that I didn't have an appointment set up. Which at the time may have been true but I was waiting for the specialist's office to not only receive the MRI information but to reschedule an appointment with me which I did.
On March 30, 2017 I received, by certified mail, a letter that she will no longer allow me to be her patient. I was told by her office today that I was dropped because I have not followed her instructions and she feels like I would be in better care by another doctor. She also indicated that Dr. Abrams wants her patients to be trustworthy, which in essence she's calling me a liar. I've never gone against her instructions, in fact I did get the MRI done and have an appointment set up with a specialist on April 4. I feel like Dr. Abrams and her staff have no sympathy for her patients and what they're going through. I would not recommend her nor her office to anyone.
