I have been renting from this location for 4 years now. I have never really had any problems that would make me upset really. There have been many occasions where the car I reserved is not available but I eventually ended up with something. Anyway, I rented from them this past Sunday and I can say firmly that this will be the LAST TIME RENTING FROM THIS LOCATION. When I got to there, I was informed that no cars are available. Avis Preferred Member here with reservation weeks in advance. Wow! I had to wait until someone brought a car and then had it supposedly cleaned. Anyway, I got the car, jumped in and headed out of town for a work conference. The next morning I am in my hotel room and got a call from an unknown number. The gentleman said my name and stated that he was the previous renter. He held that he left a pouch full of cash and a few credit cards in the glove box of the car. I told him that I am not aware of it because I did not look in the glove box. I immediately ran down to the garage and sure enough, it was there. Anyway, I called corporate to report that the location had provided my personal information to the gentleman which included my name, where I worked and my cell number. They confirmed that this was against company policy and I should not be dealing with this gentleman further. Items should be returned to AVIS and they SHOULD BE THE ONLY ONES arranging this. So upset I was that I had to go back and let this gentleman at AVIS know that I am very disappointed and this could have been much worst. A gun, drugs or illegal cash could have been left in the car. What if I was pulled over by police? What if this man was a criminal and opted to find me on his own? What if there was nothing in the car because it was not removed by me? Your name, place of work and phone number can easily be used to find anyone via Google these days. The amount of cash left could anger and trigger crazy people to do crazy things. Now, I am not one to want someone to lose their jobs but be VERY CAREFUL with this place. I will not be calling names because what good will that do... I know who disclosed my personal information because not only did the gentleman say who it was, but the person admitted it. I guess we sum it up as a lesson learnt as it could have played out much worst.
