I picked up Traditional Archery a couple of years ago and have been to a couple different locations to shoot. But my first time at Everglades Archery is definitely one to be remembered. My friends and I (PTH) went for the Blessed Archery Appreciation Shoot a few weeks ago, and boy was it fun. It was a free 3D shoot, which in itself is pretty impressive. The targets were placed around there course at unmarked distances. The property has a pretty large water body in the center and provided many varieties and angles of shots. The course suffered some damage from Hurricane Irma, but many of the club's members did a great job of putting the place back together. Lunch, which was also free, was spectacular!!! There was a huge paella pan, fresh salad, and bread. Thank goodness we didn't have to shoot afterwards There was a raffle after lunch, with some really cool prizes (3 bows, an arrow and bow holder), which was followed up by the iron deer competition. I had a great time, and definitely plan to attend more of their events. All the members we met were extremely friendly and helpful. If you're in the area and looking to get into archery, check them out. Well call first, because the range is open by appointment only for non members.
