Alonzo’s can be fun for happy hour and you can feel lucky if can grab a table on the wharf. The happy hour menu is good although a little heavy on fried food. I liked their spicy conch chowder. Their calamari is tasty. And it all goes well with a mojito or ice cold beer. I do not understand why they don’t have warm water or Gulf oysters. The oysters we had were Blue Points shipped in from the NE and while there was nothing technically wrong with them they were small and unimpressive. But if you keep it simple : some steamed shrimp, calamari, a cold drink and people watching you’ll enjoy yourself.
