Everything about our first experience here was wonderful except when Dr. gave fluoride varnish to my one-year-old without first asking or even letting me know she was doing it. It was his first exam and I was not appreciative that she informed me AFTER she had already applied the fluoride to his teeth. The reason I am particularly upset about this is because upon booking the appointment the receptionist, on her own accord, informed me that during the exam we will have the option to have a fluoride treatment or not. This made me feel very comfortable because I would’ve preferred we waited longer if he were to ever have this fluoride varnish treatment at all. Not happy about that. Otherwise, the staff was so friendly and the environment was so welcoming that I do believe we may still stay with this practice. Bottom line, don’t give a child something without informing the parents BEFORE you do it, especially after previously promising that they could opt out of it.
