This is one of the cheapest student housing apartments in the area and the location is mildly convenient (not during traffic, but that's only during rush hour), but unfortunately those are the only two pros of this apartment complex. The kitchen is incredibly small, only one person can be in there comfortably at a time, and there are hardly any cabinets providing barely enough space for kitchen essentials. Worse yet, there is no pantry or shelving to keep food items and with the lack of cabinets, you have to keep it all in your room, which is a decent size. I'm staying in a 4/4 paying for the "premium" furniture which was advertised as coming with a memory foam mattress, which I was not given, and a swivel office chair which I was also not given. My bed is also supposed to come with drawers under the bed, which I did not receive and when management did a walk through they said they would be getting drawers in July, when my lease ends. The complex is fairly small, so they only have one trash compacter in the entire complex and if you throw away trash at night you will most likely see a raccoon, and they are not scared of humans. On top of everything that the apartment lacks, I've been having roommate issues since I moved in. She got paint on my belongings that can't be removed and I let her know she disrespected my belongings and was really only looking for an apology which I did not get, she acts like she's the only one in the apartment and will turn the AC and heater on and off as she pleases, she has been using a space of the apartment as a storage unit for her club and will cook and leave grease and oil all over the stove and oven. A couple of nights ago I was woken up to the smoke detectors going off in the middle of the night, and as my room is close to the kitchen it was filled with smoke and the kitchen and living room were even worse. I think she fell asleep while cooking chicken wings in the oven at 4 am and she was the third to respond to the smoke detectors going off. For the amount that I pay I should not be worried if my roommate is going to burn down the apartment, and that was the second time this semester I've been woken up in the middle of the night to blaring alarms. Not only has she been a threat to my physical health, she's been causing a lot of problems for my mental health. I've let the office know that I have been dealing with depression and anxiety and have tried to explain to them how living with her has caused it to worsen and they seem to care more about her alleged allergy to both cats and dogs, than about my disability. As she is allergic, I held off on getting an emotional support animal out of respect, but since it's very clear she doesn't respect me or anything I've said to her, I told the office I was working on getting a dog as an emotional support animal and the community manager got very mad at me and told me they could deny me an emotional support animal. Not only do I hate living here, but they are trying to deny me the only thing that would make it bearable. With all the stressors we face at school, home should be the place where we can take a breath from everything but it's actually been one of my biggest stressors. All in all this apartment does not care about you or your well being, and for the price you'd be happier staying somewhere else. I would not recommend living here to anyone.
