As a longtime SH spa member, I’ll declare that the new Parthenon Bar experience is head, shoulders and torso above the previous regime, of whom I complained years ago, and was proven right. The new manager Doreen has instilled a customer-first spirit that was missing, plus a team strategy that will certainly avoid the issues that led to the management change. The staff is friendlier, the food and drinks as tasty as always. There are issues. Staffing decisions could be smarter (so many times there’s a crowded bar due to holidays, multiple weddings, etc. without enough servers. Come on, you know how many rooms are booked.) The music situation, both live and recorded, is hit-and-miss. But the staff works well under occasionally tough conditions not of their own making. Members (i.e. good-paying customers not checking out Monday) are very happy with this new Parthenon direction. It’s the best reason why longtime spa members stick around.
