VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me and my friend decided to take the short drive over to St. Augustine for the first time and felt the Segway tour would be a great way to tour the city and something fun. Needless to say it was a disaster and we never left out of the parking lot. The instructor we had kept talking about it being the slow time of the year and they really didn't have many customers due to weather being cold. I didn't realize he was just giving us his disclaimer that they were in desperate need for cash and no matter what happen they were going to get it!! Well while in the parking lot practicing since it was both our first time riding the Segway my friend went down on the Segway hit her head really hard and suffered a concussion!!! We were given a return date for the following date depending on how my friend was feeling from the fall we would try again although we were not local and had driven from out of town. Later that night we went to the ER due to her having a massive headache that wouldn't go away we in fact found out it was a major concussion she suffered even with the helmet on. The next day, I called to give the staff a heads up as to what happen and that we would not be able to return for the Segway tour and had to return home which was 4 hours away the staff sad Sorry that happen and offered a tour on the golf cart! I again reiterated she had a major concussion and the doctor orders were for her to return home and be put on bed rest for the next 48 hours. I had already paid them for a tour we never received which lasted all of 5-7 minutes in their parking lot practicing before she fell and hit her head. They refused to refund me our $125 since they used a third party vendor for payment and they were disparate for money since it was the slow season and they needed money! I think they were all very unprofessional on how they handled the situation but then again they are "just" tour guides so I guess I can't expect too much from them! However, common courtesy and professionalism is expected in any business establishment. I would definitely not recommend this Segway tour location and if you do decide to go do not pay in advance nor give them your credit card number. Don't make the same fatal mistake we did of never leaving their parking lot, my friend received a head injury in the first 5-7 minutes of getting on the machine and they still basically robbed us of $125 which they refused to refund us and she absorbed $350 co-pay from the ER!!! I would say just know the unprofessional staff you are dealing with before you decide to use them as your tour guide for yourself or your love ones!! Horrible experience, piss poor staff and their customer service sucked. Now we are having to take a avenue to deal with this company we were hoping wouldn't be necessary!!!
