UPDATE ... It has been two years since Todd went through my 4L80E in my 1993 6.5TD C3500 dually and it is having no problems at all. I trust Todd's work. / Originally my 4L80E in my 1993 Chevy 6.5TD had lost reverese and was slipping. I took it to Shifters of Jacksonville. I had to take the granny in and out 4 times. That was 8 procedures. After Todd's taking care of straightening out Shifters shotty workmanship it has now been my 4th time I have had to re install it, after Shifters trashy work. But after Todd's work, would never go anywhere else but Todd's Transmisss. Would never ever recommended going to shifters. They were scum. Even with me being respectful and telling them I will do anything required to fix the issues, they were two faced, not coming out up front with what the issue was (a reverse puck /piston cracked that instead of steel per the service bulletin they replaced with a used original aluminum reverse piston to save me money which I did not ask them to do, which cracked again and had to take it back out again) The company called Shifters did not do the right thing. They knew there was updated fixes for known 4L80E problems as in putting in a steel reverse piston cup per the service bulletin , but they didn't do them, or suggest them, because either they were hoping it would screw up again, which it did, and I then had to take it back to Shifters twice, then having to deal with the pain of removing and reinstalling doing the in and out procedures twice, as well as the money, or they were uninformed, which equals no interest in getting informed, to do a good job. Is that what we want from a transmission shop on a well known 4L80E transmission? HOWEVER ...Todd's work, and I'm an aircraft mechanic and inspector, Todd's work is someone's work I respect.
If I have trans work done again it will be Todd.
