One star for the facility only. They killed my father who simply was there for rehabilitation. He was discharged from the hospital with a prognosis of return to home. At admission the intake nurse practitioner changed the medication list that was given from the hospital. My dad was a heart patient and had a NO SALT diet which was not followed. If we didn't taste everything, it would have killed him. It wasn't until a few days into rehab that my mom noticed black spots on the floor in the bathroom. The rehab assistants were working with him when he needed to use the bathroom. My mom took him in and noticed that he was bleeding. We immediately called the ambulance who took him to the Villages Hospital. He had been bleeding internally due to the medication that was being given him. He had so many blood transfusions but they never were able to save him. He went to hospice and died within a week. I would never recommend this facility. They were cited from ACHA (government agency) in wrong-doing. They simply fix the problems cited and it's like it never happened. This is what is wrong with the health care system. Just know we were with my dad nearly 24 hours a day and this happened to him. What about the patients who don't have anyone looking after him? I pray for them all.
