Horrible builder. They'll take you at every opportunity, including Mark Metheny who is a Regional President, saw all the black mold and did nothing. A letter to their CEO that resulting in a legal response. All bad people.
Don't bet your dream of a dream home with Lennar. They sell the idea but can't deliver. I have a four-year old new construction home that I cannot even put on the market because there are so many issues and health concerns. Realtors simply won't take it because of the risks. The builder knows this.
I closed on the property in May 2013 and immediately started having issues. I have thousands of pictures, videos, emails, call logs and calendar entries. A WCI (original builder) executive admitted in July 2013 that the home wasn't delivered correctly. It's only gotten worse as each month has passed.
The list has grown to over 80. The new builder (Lennar) started coming here in March once the takeover happened. I had hope that they would do what is right.
After several inspections, meetings (including the District President and his team at my home in March), they have just stopped communicating, even after admitting that the construction was not done correctly and agreeing to many of the disputed repairs. My belief - just as with the old builder - is the home is not only beyond repair, but the issues go well outside of just my home.
This last meeting was May 25th with their last response on May 31, 2017. I have emailed the District President and group three times since and called to leave a message when one of my A/Cs malfunctioned again. No response.
They witnessed mold in many places and continue to do nothing and let me live here. My plumbing and metals in confined spaces (even the oven) are corroding.
The initial suspicion was Chinese Drywall, but since it is suspected that something subterraneous is coming into the homes. There was a factory here and no remediation was completed (that was confirmed by the DEP and EPC).
None of my ceiling fans work in either the main house or guest retreat. One of their inspections found that the INSIDE of the fans were rusted and corroded with no signs of water damage around. There are no signs of rusting or corroding outside of the fans or appliances.
I've had over 20 A/C malfunctions in just over four years.
I have continued to be cooperative for more than four years but nothing is getting done. I simply cannot live like this anymore.
My life has completely changed since I moved here and nothing is changing. Every aspect of my life has been greatly impacted in the last four years. The stress alone - taking the potential environmental factors out of it - as you can imagine has been great and taken its toll in so many ways.
I'm at a loss as to what to do and who to turn to at this point. I just know I can't keep doing this alone. This shouldn't be allowed to happen and it does and not just in this neighborhood from what I am realizing.
Thank you for reading this, your time, expertise and consideration.
