I am usually very happy with Lowe's customer service but the new store has been very different during my visits. I went to pick up two citrus trees and pine straw. Not finding the trees I wanted I asked for assistance from a lawn and garden employee working the area. She stated the trees were back there and said if they had it it would be there then went back to her chores. Asking for help with the particular tree at customer service she said she wouldn't know. (2 strikes). Before leaving I bought pine straw and asked if someone would meet me at the trailer. She called for assistance. Assistance arrived at the trailer and said she would bring the bails back to end of trailer and I could load. I had to ignore sign stating for "employee use only" and climbed up two steps to retrieve the bails as she set them down. Momentarily another employee came but just talked to her and offered no assistance. I completed loading and left. (3 strikes)
I don't mind the exercise but it is nice when an employees asked if you need assistance to at least give the customer the option.
I believe the store is under staffed and the employees appear to be stressed out.
I went to Home Depot later that evening and when checking out the young man asked if I was able to find what I needed. After stating I couldn't find one thing he took off and promptly returned with the item.
WOW I was amazed and made sure to compliment the young man to management.
